In 1983 NBC broadcast a chilling miniseries that featured seemingly friendly aliens arriving on Earth with the promise of working with humans for a cooperative society. But that of course all turned around when they started eating us. What a bunch of party-poopers! V was not the first miniseries, but it was a first for science-fiction lovers. Following hot on the heels of the Star Wars trend to turn everything into sci-fi, this miniseries shocked audiences, and created a franchise fo multiple television series, including two separate episodic series.
