Enjoy Stuff: A TechnoRetro Podcast

Greetings, Programs!

You can live in the future and in the past each Monday on TechnoRetro Dads.  This week, we look to a 2030-something Mission to Mars and remember a super-powered prehistoric ball of fur better known as Captain Caveman.  We also take a Journey into Imagination as EPCOT opens its gates in 1982 just a day before we first traveled through time with Phineas Bogg in Voyagers

Mondays are fundays with TechnoRetro Dads.  Join us each week!

Boom-shakalaka!
Do I have your attention, now?

Alchemist and Idea Generator (Spencer Brinkerhoff III) joins JediShua and shazbazzar for up to twenty-six year-old memories of the classic and quotable movie of a story within a book, The Princess Bride.

While the weather is wet in the West and love bugs get lonely in the South, we check out the inconceivable news as well as study our History Lesson from the 70s and 80s.  Plus, a TechnoRetro Bowl update as we see who is the biggest and strongest going into the third week of our first Fantasy Football season.

Contact us with your responses to the TechnoRetro Challenge this week as we watch Captain Caveman while munching on Cinnamon Life cereal.

Greetings, Programs!

TechnoRetro randomness abounds in this week of historic season premiers, legendary unveilings, and lunar cheese excavations.  Plus, discover why Indonesia Jones and James Camaroon are in Jakarta, why Rowling is rolling in Fantastic Beasts, who is responsible for the iconic Vulcan hand-gesture, and possibly even find out how Boba got his beskar’gam.

Friends of the show are invited to interact through TechnoRetro Challenges where we recapture the magic of Saturday mornings long ago with a favorite cartoon and a bowl of cereal.  This week, we eat Toucan Sam’s Froot Loops while watching the classic Godzilla cartoon.

With Drive-in movie tips, TechnoRetro Bowl highlights, and a history lesson with BSG, Buck Rogers, and even Captain EO, this episode of TechnoRetro Dads is flooding with memories!

What is wrinkled and green and can be formed from merely five folds?  Origami Yoda, of course!  Superfriend Tom Angelberger joins shazbazzar and JediShua for some funtime talk about his newest addition to the Origami Yoda series: The Surprise Attack of Jabba the Puppett.  This Monday morning batch of TechnoRetro goodness mixes a shot of stellar scientific dancing with a pinch of baby footwear boogie and serves it up on a nice plate with Green Eggs and Ham.

Download early and listen in your home on your phone or on a train with your brain.

(Just be warned, some of this content may send your canine companion into an Alpolectic fit.)

Greetings, Programs!

If you could choose your own adventure after waking up eight years into the future (though you yourself are the same age), would you go back to 1978 or remain in 1986?  The shazlings, the Shualings, and Chris from SMore Geeks all join us on this episode to address this all-important question from Flight of the Navigator.

From sticker collecting books to jumping the Snake River with Evel Knievel, the adventures never end when JediShua and shazbazzar get pink with Henry Mancini and Blake Edwards remember the days of their past with cartoons, cereal, toys, movies, songs, and then go back to the future (or the present) to discuss some of what is happening today with those same things.  So whether you are interested in toys, games, movies, TV shows, or even books and “lazy books”, you will find something on TechnoRetro Dads this Labor Day.

And don’t forget the TechnoRetro Bowl Fantasy Football draft tonight and the new TechnoRetro Challenge with Froot Loops cereal and the 1978 Godzilla cartoon (you can find it on Netflix).
